Hyperbaric chamber to enhance your postsurgical recovery

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) at FacePlus Plastic Surgery Institute – Lubbock, TX
Chamber: 2.0 ATA semi hard-shell

Overview
At FacePlus Plastic Surgery Institute, we offer medical-grade HBOT in a 2.0 ATA semi hard-shell chamber to support healing after plastic surgery, optimize fat grafting take, and enhance overall results. Many clients also choose HBOT for anti-aging and wellness benefits.

Why Choose HBOT at FacePlus
• Purpose-built 2.0 ATA chamber for deep therapeutic dosing
• Protocols tailored for post-operative recovery and fat grafting
• Supervised by our surgical team for coordinated, safe care
• Comfortable, quiet sessions with continuous support

What Is HBOT?
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy involves breathing near-pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber. At 2.0 ATA, oxygen dissolves into plasma and other body fluids at higher concentrations than at normal atmospheric pressure. This elevated tissue oxygenation can support the body’s natural repair processes and help manage post-operative swelling and discomfort.

Our Chamber
We operate a modern semi hard-shell chamber rated to 2.0 ATA with continuous monitoring. The design balances comfort and stability while delivering consistent therapeutic pressure for recovery-focused protocols.

How HBOT Can Support Your Results

Post-Surgical Recovery
• Supports oxygen delivery to healing tissues
• Helps manage swelling and bruising
• May reduce downtime and discomfort

Fat Grafting Support
• Promotes an oxygen-rich environment during early graft integration
• Complements meticulous surgical technique to encourage graft survival
• Protocols available pre- and post-procedure

Anti-Aging & Wellness
• Supports cellular energy production
• May help with skin quality and vitality
• Promotes overall recovery after aesthetic treatments

Note: Results vary by individual. HBOT is an adjunct to—not a replacement for—appropriate medical and surgical care.

Typical Session
• Duration: ~50–90 minutes in-chamber, plus brief pre-/post-checks
• Pressure: up to 2.0 ATA (as appropriate)
• Frequency: tailored plan—often several sessions around surgery
• Comfort: reclining position, clear communication with staff

Who May Benefit
• Patients recovering from facelifts, rhinoplasty, liposuction, tummy tuck, eyelid surgery, breast procedures, and reconstructive surgery
• Individuals undergoing facial or body fat grafting
• Clients seeking an evidence-informed recovery and wellness plan

Safety & Screening
HBOT is generally well tolerated when properly supervised. We complete a medical screening to identify contraindications and adjust protocols to your needs.
Common temporary effects: ear pressure, sinus fullness, mild fatigue
Not suitable for everyone: certain lung or ear conditions, untreated pneumothorax, some medications, and recent ear/sinus surgery may preclude HBOT
Please disclose your full medical history and medications
We will review risks, benefits, and alternatives prior to treatment and obtain informed consent.

Preparing for Your Session
• Wear comfortable cotton clothing; avoid petroleum-based products
• Remove jewelry and electronic devices before entering the chamber
• Eat a light meal and stay hydrated
• Tell us if you feel ear pressure—we’ll guide gentle equalization

Frequently Asked Questions

How soon after surgery can I start HBOT?
Timing is individualized and coordinated with your surgeon. Many patients begin within the first few days after surgery once cleared by the clinical team.

Can HBOT improve fat graft take?
HBOT creates a highly oxygenated environment that can support early graft nourishment while the body re-establishes circulation. Overall results still depend on surgical technique, graft handling, and individual biology.

Is HBOT covered by insurance?
Insurance coverage for elective, recovery-focused HBOT is uncommon. We provide transparent pricing and package options for self-pay clients.

Is 2.0 ATA necessary?
2.0 ATA allows a therapeutic dose of dissolved oxygen while maintaining comfort for most clients. Pressure and duration are tailored to the indication and your tolerance.
